After your PMU treatment, it’s important to follow proper aftercare to ensure the best possible healing and longevity. For the first 7-10 days, avoid getting your brows wet—this means steering clear of sweating, swimming, or exposing them to water. Gently cleanse around the brow area with a damp cloth if needed.
It’s essential to resist the temptation to touch, scratch, or pick at your brows during the healing process, as this can cause irritation and affect the final outcome. Apply the aftercare ointment provided by your technician in a thin layer as directed, typically for the first 7 days, to keep the area moisturized and support healing.
Avoid makeup around the treated area during the healing period, as it can introduce bacteria and interfere with the healing process. Direct sun exposure, tanning beds, and excessive heat should also be avoided for at least two weeks after your treatment, as UV rays can cause premature fading of the pigment.
Refrain from intense physical activity, hot showers, and saunas for a week, as these can cause excessive sweating and heat, which can affect healing. During this time, you may experience some flaking and light scabbing, which is completely normal. Allow the scabs to fall off naturally to preserve the pigment.
Once your brows have fully healed, which typically takes 6-8 weeks, a touch-up session may be required to perfect the shape and color. This is a standard part of the process and ensures your brows look their best.
